Hey, I’m Katherine Maslen, naturopath, nutritionist, host of The Shift podcast, author and renegade for health.
Since completing 2 bachelor degrees in health science over 12 years ago, I’ve been helping peeps just like you to be their best through awesome health. I’ve spent most of this time one on one in clinical practice – in the trenches with my clients to navigate them through the minefield that is imperfect health.
I believe that health intervention should happen before disease occurs. I believe that body has an amazing capacity to heal itself, given the right support. And I believe that achieving good health should feel great and increase your happiness exponentially.
I’m a mother of an creative and spirited 6 year old daughter. I’m a lover of food and cooking. I’m a writer, with one book out and one on the way.
I’m also the founder of Shift where we help patients worldwide to shift their health and their lives. This includes Brisbane Natural Health – Australia’s first membership based holistic health clinic. I head up a team of 15 amazing women there and we help patients with chronic and complex disease to navigate their healing journey so that they can live a life that they love.
In 2019 I released The Shift, a world first audio-documentary podcast designed specifically to help you make your shift. Through an insightful and immersive listening experience, The Shift will help you cut through the murk of misinformation, giving you the absolute facts from the most reputable global health experts. In the first season of The Shift, I interviewed 24 of the world’s leading gut health experts. You can listen to the first season here.
My main aim in anything I do is to inspire you to live a better life. Whether that be through providing accurate information, insights or to help you shine a light on the parts of you that you perhaps you need to look at more closely. I believe wellness is not just about taking supplements and getting treatments – it’s about you taking responsibility for your own journey, It’s about getting back in touch with your body and mind. And it’s about the joy of the journey, and the growth that can occur when we allow ourselves to thrive.
